We are calling from the climate change hard-hit areas of the planet. The mother earth is under serious pressure and it affects nearly every aspect of our lives. One after another, our rivers are drying up, thousands of hectares of our farmlands and tens of thousands of our herds are lost every season either to drought or to flood or to wildfire. Our coastal cities and Islands are on the brink of being submerged and even completely disappearing from the world’s map. Our fishermen have to cover hundreds of miles and spend long nights and days at sea before making a catch. Our resources are dwindling, our poverty level is on the increase and our vulnerability worsens by the day. This limits our children’s access to education.
Our lives are constantly threatened by one disaster or another. We are forced to migrate and contest fiercely for scarce resources. This, sometimes, leads to conflicts of high proportion. We now suffer strange forms of diseases which neither we nor our health personnel can easily explain the causes thereof
The endless litany of the adverse impacts of climate change is troubling. But more troubling is the indifference and the denial of those who have the wherewithal to mitigate the worst effects of the increasingly warming planet. We, who bear the brunt of climate change live in poverty and have the least capacity to cope with its effects and to protect ourselves. Come to our help!!!
We design special schemes for children living in difficult conditions to increase their school attendance and their concentration in classes by raising the level of their parents’ or caretakers’ income to enable have breakfast, tuition fees, uniforms and books
